Differences in Challenges for Pharmacists Vs. Pharmacy Owners

Bruce Kneeland: So that reminds me of this business motif or anecdotal thing I’ve heard about: Being a good pharmacist is not the same as being a good pharmacy owner. So you would say there’s thing above and beyond pharmacy school that you’re going to need help with.

Theresa Dickinson, RPh: Absolutely. When I went to pharmacy school there was no pharmacy owner—Well, I didn’t even think I was going to own my own pharmacy, so I didn’t even attempt to learn any extra. So yeah, there’s extra stuff that you don’t learn in pharmacy school that you absolutely need to keep educating yourself on.

Bruce Kneeland: Well you have a beautiful pharmacy here. I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the politeness of your staff, you’ve got a good team. And thank you so much for spending time with us for this little video presentation.

Theresa Dickinson, RPh: You’re welcome, Bruce.
